ADAD #28: last one.. or two... or three

Lately, I have been experimenting with drawing patterns for fabric, 

some things work, some things don't.

To me, the smallest drawings made in between often make the funniest patterns.

Here is a more abstract pattern made of watercolour and pen:

 And here is a drawing I made to test my soft pastel crayons. This is a very strong earthy colour,

I think I like it.

And because this is the last drawing since February is coming to an end,

my hand drew this dog to say bye!

In March I will be giving drawing lessons to 10-12 year-olds,

and drawing fun animals is the first lesson, haha, I hope we have lots of fun.

Tomorrow I am going to draw a model, together with some fellow artists in my village.

So the drawing will continue!

This is not a drawing, it is a work in progress...

Currently I am working on this painting in my studio,

after the first sketch, this is the second round in which I changed

his face a lot of times.

I am also struggling with the jersey, it is quite a challenge...

Birds are always a good subject to draw:

I like clean lines, and I like the element of clothing in a portrait, 

for instance large scarves, or a long jacket etc.

This is the beginning of the drawing, I have finished it with colour and more details.

And I must say: I like to go back to painting portraits, more large-scale, with more texture.

But it is so cold in my studio, I will have to wait for better times...

Oh well, drawing is all about trying new things:

 I made some portraits in different styles,

this one is made with acrylic paint and a large brush:

Sheep are funny, with their woolly fur!

He does not seem happy though, with these colours.

If you put your colourpencil a bit sideways and put pressure on it, you get these nice lines.

And just let your hand flow into a drawing, and add some details.

Just sit and think about all things happening...

A drawing a day... in February #1

Starting one day too late, I am back into my yearly project 

of one drawing a day in the month of February.

Looking back on the past drawing projects,

I can see it has been inspiring to try different techniques 

and to discover your favourite style of drawing.

So here is the first one, a model sketch:
