 Tomorrow, Saturday, June 24th my studio is open for visitors, 11-16 hours. You have the opportunity to look at artwork, and buy small items like creative gift-sets, and handmade or handdrawn cards.

Tiny paper collage

A small paper collage. For me it starts with one colour I see, often in a magazine, and I think, wow I should use that colour. I then look for others to combine it with and just start tearing the paper, making it into this collage. Of course it is abstract, it is basic, it is not difficult, but it is meditative and somehow the result cheers me up. I think I am a colour person.

Just trying something

Working with paper is one of the ways I use to experiment and just try something different. Without expecting results, just play and try and see what happens. So, I was making a paper collage and had some remnants left, and they turned into this face, which is rather funny. Should I leave it like this, very basic? 

Or just maybe use it as a frame to draw a face? Well, it is an experiment so I drew a face, and it turned out like this. I like it, not sure what to do with it, other than a fun page in my sketchbook... but time will tell. 

Clematis small

 This is some other small art I have been making. My inspiration was the clematis, I once purchased a beautiful white one but it did not survive in our garden... it had this tiny edge of purple running along the petals.

June is blooming and abundant here at the moment. I am enjoying being outside, and creating. I hope you do too.
