ADAD# 28: in blue

I really like this colour blue (waterpaint), it reminded me of the Dutch blue tiles, so I made some.
Today is the last day of my project A Drawing A Day, I must say I found it pretty difficult to find inspiration to draw something, you tend to draw the same thing and I like variety.
But looking back on my drawings I see that I did discover some new possibilities, and above all that drawing is all about doing and practising.
Hope it inspired you!
I am off to go painting in my studio and preparing some interesting workshops.

ADAD #27: snowdrops, nice word

Today I painted the whole day in the studio, I also made a quick study of snowdrops (sneeuwklokjes in Dutch).

My neighbour is also longing for springtime, and has started in his vegetable garden.
I took a  peek and made some pictures.

ADAD #26: more controlled poppies

This is a pencil drawing, using several layers. I like the shape of dried poppy flowers, I have these amazing pink ones in my garden, just waiting for summer to see them again.
I was looking for a picture of them but could not find it, I came across this one though: an acer bush in our garden which is on fire in the autumn. Isn't it amazing?

ADAD #23: a model

Today I will be in the studio, giving a painting workshop. We will be studying a couple of techniques which can be done with acrylic paint, this often gives such different results it is amazing. I like those individual touches to the same technique.
Today I drew a model from a fashion magazine:

ADAD #22: hello?

This drawing I made from a fashion magazine, while drawing it I saw more and more a Bardot-face, or Marilyn Monroe.

ADAD #21:there he goes...

off to his sheep and to walk on his land...

ADAD #17: tulips

fantasy tulips with pen and watercolour paint

ADAD #16: boats on sea

On a base of watercolour paint I used a sharpie-pen (permanent marker).

ADAD #15: another elephant

made with oil pastel crayons, difficult material to use I think, but I keep coming back to them.

ADAD #14: spread some love!

Spread some love on this Valentine's day. Enjoy the hearts, maybe copy the picture and send them to your loved ones?

ADAD #13: bright orange

These flowers often belong to one of my doodle-drawings, they keep coming back.
I used orange because I saw some orange textile and it just brightens up any picture.
When we moved into our new home, I was looking for tiles in the kitchen and could not find any, until I found soft orange ones. We used these and it makes our kitchen a happy place!

ADAD #9:oehoe... snow outside

Oehoe, it is snowing outside today. We made a nice walk in the woods and saw a wild boar running away from us. We didn't see an owl though, so it is just this drawing.

ADAD #7: a fluffy bird

Inspired by fluffy chickens with feathery feet, this turned out to be more of a grouse-like bird.
Tomorrow we'll meet his friend.

ADAD #6: feeling blue...

I am feeling a bit blue... fever and aching throat...
Inspired by Carla Sonheim, who is doing a project on giraffes.
I think I am inspired by the intelligent elephant family. Making a hundred elephant drawings would be quite a challenge...

ADAD #5: a soft green flower pattern

I enjoy making patterns, combining shapes and forms. This one is fairly simple, but when you put it together into pattern, I quite like it. I have never followed a screen-print class... this is still on my wish-list. As is printing my own fabrics... I am just short of time...

Today is my last day in giving drawing lessons on an elementary school, I enjoyed it a lot and will miss the enhtusiasm of the children. I hope possibilities at other schools will come.

ADAD #1: Indian ink

First drawing of the project: I bought some new Indian ink. I think it was drawingclass at school where I last used it. Time to try again!

I am not quite satisfied with this one... I think I need smaller brushes to work more in detail.
