ADAD -29- Last one

I am ending this month of drawing with a simple flower.

Inspired by nature. 

We have had a very grey February and I hope we now get to see some sunshine, early flowers and birds.

First we seem to be getting a storm this weekend...

This month I have also been painting in the studio, and drawing portraits in a nursery home. I will continue this next week.

Something different, some blue birds, combining watercolours and pen:

A permanent marker remains one of my favourite tools.

The bold strokes ask you to be courageous to make lines.

ADAD - 25- A parade of animals

I did not know exactly what to draw... so I just was thinking a bit...

and then I drew an elephant. And then this parade of animals came...

ADAD -24- Imaginative flowers

 This time I painted some shapes and turned them into flower seed pods.

Not existing ones, but just by imagination.

The details you see in nature are good for your own imagination,

you register these shapes and then they come back in your drawings.

Drawing with watercolour of an indoor plant, with a nice pattern on its leaves.

ADAD -22- A bird in watercolour

I love birds, and these common ones live in a group of 20 in a tree in our garden.

They are quite loud and they argue a lot.

The male one has this bold black pattern on his chin:

This is totally different from yesterday...

I started with watercolur, then added lines with a Sharpie-pen,

and then added pencil.

I think my reason to draw this is lines and movement. 

I have always liked that in art.

I made a portrait with a Conté pencil,

I like the colour and its soft effect.

Looking down a street in a city in wintertime. Large city-houses, pale light, and alleys.

Just a drawing of a holiday memory, winter in the mountains:

I see them everywhere, small snowdrops showing their flowers.

In our garden, and in the fields in abundance.

Attributes needed in winter:

gloves, scarf, warm boots and a knitted cap.

I used a filter in this picture, 

I have just started to use the programma Paint, I prefer Photoshop though...

ADAD -9- In the snow

Something completely different: a man with ski's,

made with marker and pencils.

ADAD -8- the letter A

The letter A for... anatomy, anonymous, art and so on.

I used my white Posca-pen for this.

ADAD -7- Hands

Lately I have been drawing hands, just for study of the anatomy. I find it very difficult and at the same time interesting.

I sometimes use my own hand as example, or like this one: a picture in a magazine.

In a catalogue which was lying on my desk I saw different vases.

I drew the shapes and added some of my own imagination.

Making a composition of related colours has a calming effect, in my opinion.

Sometimes simple is the best.

Of course the comment is: everybody can do this. 

Yes, you can, but do you? I did and I enjoyed it.

A drawing (or painting) a day in February, -1-

Hello February,

Since January has brought us rain and wind, I hope you bring us some more sunshine and cold winterdays.

In February I like doing an everyday-project by making a drawing (or painting) a day. In short ADAD. I have been doing this for 8 years now, and it is good for me to have this challenge.

So I am starting with this drawing of pears, using acrylic paint and pencil.
