Study: a start in another book

I have also started in another marketing book. This one is by Kari Chapin.

A lot of it is already familiar to me, but I am looking for the tips to improve my business.

So, in chapter 14 the subject is: having a production plan. While most of my products are original artworks, a production plan does not seem possible. But Kari also speaks of processes and there are a lot of practical tips, so I am reading on...

Paper play no. 13: letter G

Still working on the side with paper,

here are some ideas for the Letter G:

The yellow one is a cut-out of painted paper.

Paper play 12: stripes

Small strips of paper glued together, then cut apart and glued another time.

it is the process of playing and looking at what is happening.

of course you could say: it leads to nothing and that is right, sometimes it does not and that is okay. 

But it is part of the creative process.

I made a fantasy tree, still love this colour combination,

could be made into a design for napkins, for a festive feeling.

In between: a Summer drawing

There are so many icecreams to choose from...

I drew a lot of them together,

here you see a part:

I made this during a drawing night, a lot of fun to draw together, 

each one with her own style and materials.

Paper play no. 10 another cut shape

In primary colours, with a lot of contrast.

The paper was a bit thick so I had to glue it twice,

and then framed it.

Another square paper cut and pulled apart:

It could be a model for a scarf.

Starting with a square piece of paper,

and then sort of pulling it apart by cutting shapes. 

Glueing it on another colour and you get this effect.

I like this colour combination.

I do not think I am going to make and alphabet, 

but the letter B has nice varieties:

Something different: collecting types of letters and cutting your own shapes.

Letters are always an inspiration. I am using old magazines

for this. You can have so much fun with those magazines, and it is low budget art making.

I think I really like this colour combination, it has something light and airy,

thinking of water and beaches.

I therefore left the composition quite simple.

For the summer I wanted to have a small project with paper.

I have always loved the possibilities and unpredictability of paper,

so I am playing around with it. I' ll show you some of the results the coming days.
