Small holiday-gift

With the small sketchbooks I ordered last week I made some small gift-packages. Handy and nice to give as a present for the summer holiday. It includes a Talens sketchbook, a black Sharpie-pen, some pictures as inspiration, and a leaflet with ideas to just start using this sketchbook. Sketch every day, even if it is for 5 minutes. They are available in pink, green, blue, silver and white. I sell them in my studio, but contact me if you are interested. Have a nice week!

 

Cleaning up for the open studio this Saturday

Ah, time to clean up, sort out my studio!

My studio is open this Saturday for visitors to come 

and see what I have been up to, or to maybe look for some handmade holiday gifts.

I have this enormous pile of paintings on paper: which ones are good enough to show and sell? And am I ready to part with some of them? After all, I know when I made them, what the process was. Someone adviced me to hold on to some paintings which clearly reflect my development as an artist... and I have taken that advice. But I also love to sell my paintings, I like sharing what I've made.

Finally, Spring and sun have come! I cleaned up the studio and look forward to be meeting some people this Saturday. I have made new bags and I have a lot of nice small gifts to see.

Winter-time has come

It was cold this weekend, so only a few visitors came to my studio. 

Even though I had made an effort to turn my studio into a little shop.  

Outside the views were amazing. We arrived early in the morning and there was a mysterious fog hanging above the snow. Together with the morning light it was an amazing landscape. We took time to stare, watch and take it all in. Later in the day soft sunlight came in, and changed the landscape into a palette of white colours. I love the winter!

8 December: winter opening of my studio

Welcome in my studio on Saturday December 8th, 10-16 hours. Lovely to see you there! Christmas decorations, new cards, animal paintings, accessories and some new paintings.

This is a new painting, a base of acrylic paint and then I used crayons to make the portrait. Lots of other things going on, having fun!

Open Studio in Loosdrecht

Saturday 28th April I open up my studio for some Spring feeling. Welcome to swing by for a chat, a cup of coffee and a look around some new paintings and products! Open: 10.00-17.00 hours (Nieuw Loosdrechtsedijk 106).

Oh, and my struggle with the assignment of the interpretation of a classical painting (see last blog) turned out okay! I started afresh and interpretated it my way in a sort of illustrative graphic manner. I am quite pleased with the outcome, hope to show it one day...

This Monday I will be in my studio, I've layed out some nice accessories I have made and you can see some new paintings. I'll be there 10-17 hours. Until then?

Flowers, drawing and so on

With again some computer issues... (frustrating that I cannot solve them myself) I am now working on the laptop. I've been working a lot in the garden and enjoying the nice weather. I have several flowers of the family akelei, and this is the darkest one I have. A really dark, middleaged colour purple, I like this one.

I have also been in the studio working on two paintings, a large one trying to simplify and control my style. Saturday I visited some colleagues here in the village in their open studio. This was really fun to meet them and see their work. In between I am drawing a lot, this was a scribble I made while in a meeting.

OPEN STUDIO - welcome!

This Friday and Saturday my studio is open for visit. I've redecorated and painted part of the studio resulting in more light!
The outlet store of office furniture is also open, so if you need any second-hand desks or chairs for a small price... welcome.

I have made some new colourful bags with my own pattern. Isn't this one sunny?
My studio will be open on 6 and 7 May, filled with new accessories, and cards!

This Friday and Saturday my studio is open to visit. I've made some small paintings for a small price, handmade some little notebooks, made a lot of christmas-cards and well... more to see.
The studio is open from 10-18, I'll put the heat on!
