Pink hellebore

And when the sun comes out, these Hellebore flowers radiate their colours! The translucent petals are beautiful. These flowers are all over my garden.

Muted colour

 Sunday I went for a walk and it was a bit greyish weather. But turning into a forest path I came upon this field of grass and I loved it. Dark green and a pale yellow ochre: the muted tones of colour were peaceful. The palette of colour of this picture: light blue, pale ochre, light brown, dark green.

Drawing something new

 At the moment I am working on an assignment to make a new card-design, therefore I am trying out new drawings. One of them has this colour palette, inspired by France. It is finished already, so on to the next one with more red and pinkish colours. Really love the Newton and Winsor aquarel paintbox.

Before and after in pastel

 Last week I was drawing portraits with my 16-year-old niece. I used a thick pastel crayon which is quite unforgiving because you easily make mistakes and cannot add much detail. I triggered myself to keep working at it and filled in the background and tried to use more colours like violet and green.

In the end I liked my first version and my niece liked the last version :).
