Evening ride... by the roadside

Went for a bicycle ride and stuck my nose into some grasses, so lovely...

Changing perspective, go down on your knees and be a part of the grass world...

A bit further I saw these yellow colours:

These photos help me with perspective, ideas for paintings, colour combinations.
Maybe not on short term, but later on... so go exploring!

In the making...

Productivity in my studio... this is one of the results,
in the making, waiting to dry for a second layer.

ZIZOlabel

After making a portrait painting I returned to abstract.
It has been a while, so I had to find my technique again.

This painting started abstract, but ended slightly figurative,
it resembles the lake with its shores full of reed.

Summer garden - zomer tuin

On these rainy days here at the moment we need to pick the moments of sun to enjoy the garden.
On a Saturday I went to visit one of the gardens nearby, Eykenstein.
A vegetable and herb garden on an estate.

Tuinderij Eykenstein

On the picture above you see the greenhouse, a really old one, and recently restored.

Echinacea - colours!

The garden sells their organic vegetables and in the herb garden you can follow courses
on the use of herbs in tea in treatments and so on.
It is a small wonderful and peaceful place to be.

Portrait play - continuing...

In between I am taking time to play with portraits (an online course by Alisa Burke),
and here some results. Made with black ink and pen. I just tried different techniques and styles.
I think I like those ones where I used a brush with ink:

Flowers...

At the moment it is raining... but last week I made another flower-painting
with happy summer colours.
It is hanging in our livingroom now, to bring some sunshine in.

Summer is nearly here...

Summer still-life... enjoy the simple things.
painting SOLD!
Painting made last week, wanted to bring some colour and happiness unto paper.
Always love making a still-life, this is made by heart, so from imagination.
Maybe I'll add some final touches with pastel crayons.
Inspiration came from an exhibition in the Singer Museum,
where there were lots of decorative paintings to be seen.
